I've added links to our gift registries to the right.  If you have any questions about the registries please email Brian McDonald.

I have been stumbling over what to do about a gift registry over the past few weeks.  Most importantly what to do about registering for china.  I'm not too hip on what the current styles that Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel have to offer.  When I was digging around in my craft room over the weekend I stumbled upon a dessert plate that I am falling in love with more and more each day I look at it.

I'm not sure where we got the plate, I think it came from Granny, but it does not appear to have any friends.  I did some reasearch, this pattern is called Historic America - Pink made by Johnson Brothers, circa 1930-1974.  I'm not sure how one can tell the difference between the 1930's version and the later versions.  It's probably in the grazing.  I've looked at many patterns of transferware but I keep coming back to this one.  It's not too crazy busy, plus it is still fairly affordable.  Most of the English transferware that I adore, circa 1880-1900, is way too expensive.

If you are looking to purchase china as a gift we would love to add this pattern to our collection.  Now don't panic about where to find this pattern, no need to scour eBay.  I've done all the work for everyone who may be thinking about purchasing china as a wedding gift.  Replacements LTD is an excellent china pattern resource and they currently have this pattern in stock at reasonable prices.  Below is a list of what would be needed for a service of twelve.

Need:

12            5-Piece place settings

12            Luncheon Plate

12            Lugged Cereal Bowl

12            Square Soup Bowl

1              Creamer

1              Sugar Bowl and Lid

4              9" Oval Vegetable (9 3/4" Erie Canal)

2            Round Covered Vegetable Bowl

1             Tureen with Lid

1             12" Oval Serving Platter

1             Teapot with Lid

1             Gravy Boat with Underplate (not attached)

12           Demitasse Cup and Saucer Set (Flat)

You do not need to purchase these from Replacement LTD, this pattern can also be found on eBay.  If you frequent garage sales please be on the watchout for the Colossal Cup and Saucer Set.  This set was a limted release promotion and a set of four would be an awesome addition to our collection.

For tracking purposes, please send my Maid of Honor, Brian McDonald, an email with the items that you purchased.

If you are looking for low price airfare check out Kayak.com.  Currently there are some really good deals from Phoenix to Charlotte starting at $198 round trip.  Charlotte is about 90 minutes away from Hendersonville so a car rental will be needed.  I've found really good deals on rentals through Priceline starting at $20 a day.  Right now AirTran has several flights open and for a few bucks more Northwest also has some deals.  If you would like to carpool with another guest let me know and I will arrange that with you.
